The Greater Los Angeles region (including Orange County) is ranked the 6th most innovative region in the world by Startup Genome. We lead the country in PhD graduates and patents issued, and rank 4th for venture capital investment in the country, with more invested in 2018 & 2019 than ever before.
With a solid, diverse economy to build upon, Orange County is well-positioned to continue to be an innovation and entrepreneurship center in the decade to come. As we work to adjust our economic mix to one more oriented to technologies of the future, many opportunities will be created.
The key support systems are in place to provide resources to entrepreneurs. Please see our entrepreneur map for a guide. And if you'd like to dig into more regional investment and innovation jobs data, please download a recent presentation, which is available here.

As reported recently in the Orange County Business Journal, the first cohort of young professionals awarded to the Orange Fellowship program recently held its second gathering in Irvine. The Fellows had the opportunity to meet CLA-OC program leaders, get details on upcoming learning events and network in a social-distanced outdoor setting.
"The Orange Fellowship is designed to create deeper connections and bridges across industries and generations, so we can work more closely together in solving the biggest community challenges," said Carey Ransom, a senior advisor with CLA-OC and the president of Operate in Costa Mesa.
For the full story visit the CLA-OC blog. The Orange Fellowship program and its inaugural class also are featured on their own LinkedIn page.
