Hello *|FNAME|*,
We are pleased to share this latest edition of the EnvisionOC newsletter, promoting the connectivity of Orange County's business ecosystem, and the diversity of career, enterprise, educational and lifestyle opportunities for the county's young talent.
In this summer edition, we take a look at Orange County's positioning when it comes to remote and hybrid work environments. OC business leaders recently gathered to discuss new business models for high-performance workforces, Irvine is recognized as a top U.S. city for remote work, and TikTok connoisseur, Ashley Coats, is on a mission to find the best cafes in OC for remote work.
Sincerely,
The EnvisionOC Team

CEO Leadership Alliance Orange County (CLAOC) kicked off the first installment of the CLAOC Member Luncheon Series at Tangram Interiors in Newport Beach. Hosted by Joe Lozowski, CEO of Tangram Interiors, and Doug Holte, founder of Agile Workweek Investments, this luncheon series allows OC company leaders to participate in collaborative discussions on topics that require more OC business leadership.
This month's theme was "New business models for high-performance, hybrid workforces." Seven attendees engaged in conversations around making OC a remote and hybrid-friendly environment to retain and attract young talent.
For many companies, the coronavirus pandemic has sped up a transition into more flexible and diverse working environments, opening up ways of working that were unthinkable just a few years ago. The luncheon was held in the Tangram Interiors' showroom to intentionally show the benefits of in-person meetings and face-to-face interactions.
"We have to be very intentional about when and why people come to the office," said Wendy Rogers, CEO of LPA Design Studios. "The real ability to build a vision with someone is a personal experience."
For Reza Janhangiri, CEO of American Advisors Group, the impact of companies transitioning to hybrid and remote work environments has caused a decrease in his OC employee base. "As people leave, more flexibility in rehiring in various places around the world is needed," Janhangiri said.
For others, in-person work environments are essential for employee success.
"There is a mental health and culture impact if 100 percent remote," said Matt Lough, senior sales leader at Amazon Web Services. "There's an unseen cultural impact. People who are fully-remote talk about being on an island and feel disconnected."
The CLAOC Member Luncheon Series will continue in August 2022.
